2005 talks and lectures

26th January 2005 The Bodley Lecture at Merton College, Oxford on Afghanistan, Y-chromosome genetics and recent developments in the Indo-European problem.

31st January 2005 With co-author of Afghanistan: A Companion and Guide, Bijan Omrani, a lecture at the Royal Geographical Society in Hong Kong, entitled Afghanistan: Past and Present.

21st February 2005 A talk at the Traveller’s Club in London on with my cousin Tom Leeming, who led Travel Afghanistan’s 2004 expedition to the Small Pamir, on Tracking Marco Polo in Afghanistan: Facts or Fiction?

1st March 2005 Talk to the Globetrotter’s Club in Covent Garden, London. Contact info@globetrottersclub.org for tickets.

September 2005 Lecture at the Royal Geographical Society, London

Book launch
The Far Eastern launch will take place at the China Club in Hong Kong on 30th April 2005.

In the United States, there will be a launch at the United Nations in New York on 2nd June and at the Afghan Embassy in Washington DC on 9th June 2005 and a further event at the American Enterprise Institute on a date and time to be announced.

In England, there will be launches and events in London, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Oxford in July and September 2005.

I have kindly been invited by Macquarie University in Sydney to lecture on the Alexander in Afghanistan project in 2005 (date to be arranged) and details of this, and other lectures and interviews in Australia, will be posted here nearer the time.
